Fashion Advice

Jacob was watching me putting my hair in a ponytail in my bathroom and putting hair clips on the sides to keep the loose hair in place. He observed that I had a lot of "hair stuff".

Jacob: Mom, if you put all of them in your hair, then it will be ugly. You should only use one.

Mom: I need two clips in my hair, one on each side.

Jacob: Okay, but they need to match or it will be ugly.

I took Jacob and Joey to Children's Discovery Museum today. On the way there, I told Jacob, Jacob, you are a big boy now, you need to help mom keep an eye on Joey.

Jacob: Okay mom, I can watch Joey because I have good eye sight. I can see so far, even the mountain that's far away.

Mom: Yes, Jacob, you have good eyesight.

Jacob: You can't see so well anymore because you are old.

Joe has a cousin Dirk, is visiting from Germany, staying with us. We were having dinner, Chinese food that the nanny made. Dirk made a comment that the food was very good, he like it very much. So I translated to Chinese for the nanny. Joey was sitting at the table, and he turn around and told the nanny in Chinese, "Dirk said the food was not tasty", and laughed.

Funny guy!

We were drving home from dinner today. All of a sudden, Jacob asked me, mommy, why do Joey and I like you so much?

I don't know Jacob, do you know why?

Jacob replies, I don't know either.

This is after they were driving me crazy at the restaurant. They sure know how to sweet talk you.

The Church Lady Rocks

For once, this posting isn't about my kids.

Our friend Dean offered us free tickets to see Dana Carvey tonight. He was hilarious. I laughed so hard at one point I was in tears.

I took the kids to the park today after work. Joey tries so hard to keep up with Jacob at the park, wanting to do everything Jacob does.

On the play structure, there is a thing, shape like a slide, but it's made with two separate bars, so you can't really slide down. Jacob decide to walk down this thing and of course Joey tried to follow.

I ran over to Joey to catch him, and telling him, Joey you are going to fall down.

Joey: No, I am not.

Mom: Yes, you are.

Joey: No, I am not because you are holding me.

Hmm, very astute of him.
